Glen Canyon Dam Waterfall Hike Description

This short loop hike within the city limits of Page, Arizona traverses a spectacular, water-carved sandstone wash adorned with seasonal pools, leading to the edge of the massive Glen Canyon drop. It then follows the canyon’s edge to the Glen Canyon Dam Overlook, a ramada offering stunning views of the Dam and the Colorado River flowing westward. If it has rained recently, the small drainage can produce a dramatic waterfall visible from the Glen Canyon Bridge.

The trail is marked with small rocks at the start, but it becomes unmarked once you reach the wash. Exercise caution near the canyon edges, as the sandstone is soft and slick. People have fallen to their deaths by approaching the edge too closely. Use common sense, and this hike can be very safe.
