Lone Rock Beach & Off-Road Area Description

Lone Rock Beach at Lake Powell is a popular destination, known for its unique blend of sandy shores, emerald waters and challenging off-road trails. Located in the Glen Canyon National Recreation Area, the beach offers opportunities for camping, swimming, boating, and off-roading, making it an ideal spot for those seeking both relaxation and adventure. Visitors can camp right on the beach, enjoying stunning sunrises and sunsets over the water, with the added convenience of easy access to Lake Powell’s expansive network of canyons and waterways. The off-roading area is small, encompassing one square mile but it pack in a wide variety of terrain that will challenge all skill levels. Be mindful of the speed limit of 15 mph on the main beach, avoid drinking and driving, and be aware that there is a quiet time from 10pm until 6am. Park Rangers patrol the area vigorously and are strict about the rules. Lone Rock Beach can be extremely busy in peak season and becomes a “party spot” for many rambunctious visitors, and things can get pretty loud. The best way to avoid the noise is to camp elsewhere or to come in the off season where the beach will be virtually vacant. Click here for more detailed information about Lone Rock Beach.
