Paria Riffle Beach Hike Description
This pristine beach, located at the confluence of the Paria River and the Colorado River near Lees Ferry and Marble Canyon, Arizona, offers a perfect blend of natural beauty and tranquility. Here, the clear azure waters of the Colorado River mix with the tan silt of the Paria River, creating the Paria Riffle—a small rapid that marks the beginning of Grand Canyon National Park.
The silky sands of the beach provide an ideal spot to dip your toes in the refreshing water, sunbathe, or cast a line in hopes of catching a Rainbow Trout. Surrounded by towering red cliffs and lush vegetation, this area feels like a paradise. The fertile river shore is home to a variety of wildlife, including numerous birds and reptiles.
The beach offers stunning panoramic views of the Grand Canyon’s dramatic landscape, making it a perfect location for photography. Fishing regulations differ below the confluence of the Paria River: bait is allowed, and you can keep up to 6 trout. However, fishing conditions can be poor when the water is muddy.
