Vermillion View Point Hike Description
The Vermillion View Overlook, located on the western corner of Manson Mesa, offers a stunning panorama of the Vermillion Cliffs, Echo Peaks, Glen Canyon Dam, and Wahweap Bay. The trail is mostly flat and moderate, making it accessible for hikers of all levels. You can reach the viewpoint from two different access points:
Library Trailhead: This option is approximately 2 miles round trip and features several highlights along the way, including the Monkey Stream Bridge, Monkey Slide, Tree Tunnel, and an additional viewpoint called Echo Peaks Point.
Quality Inn Access Point: This shorter route provides a quicker access to the overlook but offers less scenic charm, with views that include the hotel district and a Denny’s.
From the Quality Inn parking lot, finding the trail can be a bit tricky as it’s not an official trailhead and lacks signage. After parking, backtrack to Lake Powell Blvd and walk about 100 yards until you reach a viewing veranda. From there, the trail zigzags along the edges of backyards of some residences, eventually leading you to the rim. You’ll be rewarded with views of the golf course, Glen Canyon Bridge and Dam, Wahweap Bay, and the distant Kaiparowits Plateau. Along the way, you’ll pass a well-constructed viewing platform where you can rest and take in the scenery.
