This off-road area north of Page Arizona offers a variety of dirt roads to explore that reward you with absolutely stellar views of Lake Powell and the GRAND STAIRCASE-ESCALANTE NATIONAL MONUMENT . The dirt roads here run the gamut from full on 4×4 capability to some mellower objectives that only require a high clearance vehicle. There are no roads in this area that accommodate 2WD cars. There is even one road that will take you all the way to the town Escalante Utah!
Guided Alstrom Point Off-Road 4×4 Tour
This 5 hour guided 4×4 off-road tour takes you to the top of Lake Powell and gives you spectacular views of Gunsight Bay, Navajo Mountain and Grand Staircase–Escalante National Monument. Tours can be customized for photographers, hikers, and a combination of both.
Lone Rock Beach
Lone Rock Beach offers thrilling off-roading over a web of rugged trails, while allowing you to camp right on the shores of Lake Powell.
Crosby Canyon
A short moderate drive through a dramatic canyon, amphitheaters, and otherworldly sandstone formations. This road no long reaches Lake Powell due to NPS closure.
Alstrom Point
This off-road adventure rewards you with one of the most iconic viewpoints in the Glen Canyon area, perfect for photography, solitude and camping.
Smokey Mountain
This well maintained road cuts its way up the side of the Kaiparowits Plateau offering an incredibly vast panoramic view of the Lake Powell region and an underground coal fire that billows smoke from cracks in the rock.
Smokey Hollow Road
A fun road that winds its way up a wash in the bottom of a large canyon and intersects with Smokey Mountain Road making for a great loop drive.
Nipple Creek ~ Tibbet Canyon
A fantastic loop road that takes you up Nipple Creek to the top of the Kaiparowits Plateau, continues to the refreshing Tibbet Springs, and then descends through another deep canyon adorned with hoodoos and arches.
