Lake Powell Hiking Trail Map
Lake Powell is famous for it’s boating and watersports but there are also many local hiking options for those that don’t have access to a boat or are just looking for something a little more simple. All of these hikes are short and will expose you to the unique features of the lake, such as pristine sand beaches, emerald coves and sheer, tapestry cliffs. Whether it be swimming and cliff jumping in the summer or fishing and photography in the winter, there is something for everyone and for every season on these beautiful shores.
Hanging Gardens
An easy 1.2 mile round trip over a well marked trail leading to a small cavern spring that supports a variety of plant and animal life.
The Chains
A quarter mile hike along the sandstone shore of Lake Powell in close proximity to Page that does not require a Park Fee. Closed from sunset to 8am daily.
Sentinel Coves & Dome
An out and back hike to some great swimming and fishing holes. For the more adventurous, there is Sentinel Dome that challenges you with steep scrambling and amazing views.
Carl Hayden Dam Glen Canyon Bridge
A must stop for all visitors. Carl Hayden Visitor Center will educate and entertain you. Informative displays and maps, mixed with one of a kind views of Lake Powell and the Colorado River.
Beehives ~ The New Wave
An easy trail in close proximity to the Glen Canyon Dam that contours the base of a weather carved mesa or a fun meander through the mesa’s bowls and undulations. A fantastic place to photograph the sunrise and sunset.
Anchovy Point
A fun, ambling scramble down slickrock bluffs leads to the contoured beaches and cliffs of Wahweap Bay.
Antelope Point
A super fun out and back hike or a loop that contours the main channel of lake Powell around a large bend, to Antelope Point Launch Ramp and beyond if desired.
Antelope Canyon Rim Walk
A 2-3 mile trailless, moderate out and back hike along the edge of the world famous Antelope Canyon.
